We open each area once enough tradies nearby have joined — then searching and messaging switch on and we email you. A network with three people in it is no use to anyone, so we wait until yours is worth opening.

Honestly, it depends entirely on how many tradies near you sign up — so we won't invent a date. What we will do is email you the moment your area is live. If you want it to happen faster, the single biggest thing you can do is send this to the tradies you already know locally.

Yes — free to join, and free while we fill the first suburbs. Later there'll be a small flat monthly fee to stay listed (currently planned at $11.99/mo), and early joiners lock in that price. We never take a commission on your jobs, and we'll never charge you without telling you first.

You add your trade, area, rate and availability. Once your area is open, other tradies nearby can search and filter — by trade, suburb, how far you'll travel, availability and rate — then message you through the site to sort the work.

No, and we won't pretend otherwise. TradeHands is an introductions tool, not a vetting service. Each tradie enters their own details, including whether they're qualified or an apprentice, and we don't verify those claims. Always confirm licences, insurance and references directly with the other tradie before starting work — the same as you would with anyone you hire. We're building more trust features as the network grows.

Any trade, anywhere in Australia — sparkies, plumbers, chippies, tilers, roofers, painters, concreters, landscapers, labourers and more. Qualified tradies and apprentices are both welcome.

No. You're not our employee, we're not your labour hire company, and we don't take a percentage of your work. You arrange the job, the price and the terms directly with the other tradie. TradeHands just makes the intro.
