I'm Chris. I'm on the tools, and TradeHands came out of a problem I kept running into myself.
The problem I kept having
Every tradie knows the swing. Some weeks you're turning work away and you'd give anything for one more decent pair of hands. Other weeks the ute barely leaves the driveway.
Both of those are the same problem, and the fix is usually sitting a few suburbs away — another tradie in the exact opposite week to you. But there's no easy way to find them. You ring around. You ask on a Facebook group and hope. You end up knocking work back, or sitting idle, because you couldn't find someone in time.
The big lead sites don't solve it either. They're built for homeowners, they make you race to the cheapest quote, and they take a slice of the job for the privilege. That's not what I wanted.
So this is what TradeHands does
One thing, properly: it connects one tradie to another. You see who's free near you, you get in touch, and you sort the job between yourselves — your rate, your terms. We just make the intro.
No bidding wars. No commission on your work. No homeowners. Just tradies.

Your trade, your area, your rate, and when you're free. Takes about a minute, and it's free.
2 · We open your suburb
Once enough tradies near you have joined, we switch it on and email you.
3 · Sort the work
You talk, you agree, you get the job done. Your rate, your call.
Why we open suburb by suburb
A network like this only works if there are actually people in it. Ten tradies spread across the whole country is useless to all ten of them.
So rather than open the doors to an empty room, we hold each area until there are enough tradies nearby to make it worth your while — then we let everyone in at once. It's slower. It also means that when your suburb opens, there's someone there.
That's why signing up now matters more than it looks: you're not joining a queue, you're the reason your area opens.
Where we're at
TradeHands is new and being built right now. It's free to join, and the tradies who get in early shape where it goes and which areas open first. Being straight with you: the search and messaging side isn't switched on yet — that happens as each area fills.
You arrange your own work directly with other tradies. TradeHands isn't your employer, doesn't hire you, and doesn't take a cut of your jobs.
